My life has been one of contrasts. I was born in Canada but raised in the UK. My first career was in Italy, where I was a corporate director for international operations in Rome. But the real world called, and I'm presently transitioning to a very different life. I'm at once down-to-earth and intellectual, sincere and ironic, ambitious and present-oriented, introspective but not introverted. I try to keep a healthy balance between being and doing. Living in the moment has an important place, but so does self-discipline, which ultimately makes you a more, not less free.
